YOUR baby can communicate!
BABY NEEDS: Milk, change diaper, sleep, eat, drink, more, change clothes, bath, hold, up, book, toy, play.
WHAT DOES BABY NEED?
Now you can find out what your baby needs by using this app! It does the talking for them--before they can vocalize it themselves!
HOW BABIES LEARN
Babies recognize words before they can speak words. They recognize words at six months old--or even earlier!
Labeling babys experience is the way baby learns best. When baby decides he or she is interested in something, that is the time to label it. Baby wants a bottle? Say, "milk" and show the milk flash card.
Babies love to point to share their opinion. This is one of the things that makes us human!
HOW TO USE THIS APP
1. Show your baby the appropriate word when you are meeting your babys needs. For example, when you feed the baby, show the "milk" card. When you change the babys diaper, show the "change diaper."
2. When your baby is crying, and you want to understand what he or she needs, use the app. Take your best guess about the thing baby is most likely to need right now, then open to that card. "Do you need toy?" When baby points to their need (TOY!) then give the baby what he or she wants.
HOW TO TALK TO BABY
Use a high-pitched tone, but use actual words from babys environment.
Keep it simple. One or two word labels are easy enough for even young babies to grasp. ("Milk" or "eat.") But also be sure use full sentences using these labels, like narrating your daily activities. "Mommy is pouring your milk."
Surprise them. Babies are more interested in things that are new and different.
Be supportive. Show your baby that you are genuinely interested in listening to them. Let them take their time.
